Usually I will go by Dhoby Ghaut MRT station to Sunshine Plaza. Dhoby Ghaut is a big MRT station, with three MRT lines in it (North-South line, North East line, and the new Circle line). To reach Sunshine Plaza, you have to take the North-South line exit (or commonly called red line in Singapore). Upon exiting the MRT station you’ll see The Cathay building.

It is one of the oldest shopping mall in Singapore. You still can see the old entrance with a huge sign in front of it.

Behind it is the newly renovated side of the mall. It is famous for its cinema. If you continue walking to the left, you’ll get to another shopping mall called Plaza Singapura.

The inside of Plaza Singapura. You can reach here directly from Dhoby Ghaut MRT purple line (North East line) exit. There is a cinema at the top level with lots of movie figurines and souvenirs shops.

Back side of HSBC building on the left. To reach Sunshine Plaza, you need to turn right in front of Cathay. The landmark is School of the Arts which is just right beside The Cathay.

Then you need to cross the street to Rendezvous Hotel.

Turn left and walk straight till you find a row of open concept restaurant and online game shops.

If you see this building, you are really close to it. Sunshine plaza just opposite the street. By the way, the building is Singapore’s Election Department. I guess the people working in it are really busy nowadays as Singapore will have election next month (May 7 to be precise.
